Prince William County Fire Station No. 22

Prince William County Fire Station No. 22 is a new 19,000 SF fire station incorporating four drive through apparatus bays, individual bunk rooms with gender neutral toilet/shower rooms, exercise room, training classroom, and an open concept kitchen and dining with vaulted ceilings to maximize views and daylighting. Th floor plan and site plan were designed to accommodate future expansion.

Through the incorporation of Hot Zone Design, LEWA has created a healthier living and working environment by separating occupants from the contaminants encountered in the emergency response to incidents. Particular emphasis is placed on containing the contaminants in the work zones and controlling the crossover into the living areas by creating transition zones between the two spaces. Enhanced decontamination areas are provided for equipment and personnel cleansing adjacent to the apparatus for quick, easy and immediate access after the return from an incident.
