This project responds to its Historic District location with additions that strengthen the existing urban fabric, and includes renovation of existing deteriorating properties with new landscaping that enhances street edges. New construction creates courtyards tucked behind existing, older buildings, providing outdoor gathering space for the church and presenting an attractive invitation to the public.

Completed work consists of three renovated historic buildings used for church meeting space, a relocated stone house, and a spacious new gathering and fellowship hall addition that resolves existing congested, outdated building and site circulation patterns. The Master Plan addresses handicapped accessibility throughout the property, with an expanded parking area providing more convenient drop-off and entrance into the buildings.

“LeMay Erickson Willcox helped us develop an effective process to secure congregational input and did an excellent job of listening to the needs and concerns….They have an excellent understanding of church life and dynamics and worked well with the several lay committees involved in the process…They invest in personal relationships and communicate with great warmth and good humor. The new facilities are magnificent.”
