History
LeMay Erickson Willcox was founded in 1986 by Michael LeMay, AIA, and Paul Erickson, FAIA. Our first office was located in the basement of Mike’s townhouse in Reston, Virginia. As a result of the founders’ experience and stature in the profession, the firm began to thrive from the very beginning with important commissions in church and municipal architecture.
Jared Willcox, AIA, joined the firm in 1993, bringing strong credentials in commercial architecture and residential development. Neal Roseberry, AIA, joined the practice a year later, bringing extensive expertise in the design of religious facilities in particular. Christopher Kehde joined the firm in 2002 and was elevated to partner in 2015 to help lead the public safety and development studios.
In 2005, LeMay Erickson Willcox was awarded the T. David Fitz-Gibbon Architecture Firm Award from the Virginia Society AIA. The highest honor to be bestowed by the society upon a Virginia-based architecture firm, LeMay Erickson Willcox is one of only three Northern Virginia firms to earn this honor. We have also received many other prestigious design awards for projects throughout the mid-Atlantic region.

“What sticks with me the most when I look back on the entire project is the level of trust we developed in LeMay Erickson Willcox, and I don't say that lightly. When issues arose, we looked for guidance from both you and your team. Without fail we received professional, well-researched information with which to make decisions.”
Nokesville Volunteer Fire DepartmentTo date, we have had the pleasure of constructing Nokesville VFD #25 and Antioch Fire and Rescue Station No. 24 ----both exemplary LeMay, Erickson Willcox projects. As Estimator on both projects, I am pleased to complement you on the clarity and accuracy of the Bid Documents. It is obvious that your design team fully understands the needs of a modern day Fire Station; further, your team provides the Bidder the information to clearly prepare the most competitive bids!! As Project Manager on the Nokesville project, your Construction Administration team proved itself to be a vital player to get the job done. Submittals were quickly reviewed and returned, progress meetings were conducted professionally and responsibly and most of all, when the everyday issues arose---your team rolled up its sleeves and pitched in to resolve each item.
