Covenant Presbyterian Church
The two-phase master plan for this growing congregation is cen- tered around a “Great Lawn” and signature tower. The two-story, 22,000 square foot Phase I building includes a 350 seat sanctuary, chapel, and administrative offices on the upper level with class- rooms and an interim fellowship hall on the lower level. Phase II will include the permanent fellowship hall, kitchen, additional class- rooms, and administrative offices.
The Phase I sanctuary is designed with a traditional gable roof structure and side aisles, while a rotated secondary axis begins at the new tower and terminates at the chancel communion table. The interplay between the main building axis and the shifted second- ary axis creates a dynamic architectural relationship between the simple building container and the church’s sacred worship activi- ties.
