Unity of Fairfax
LeMay Erickson Willcox worked with Unity of Fairfax to analyze their outgrown existing facility and inefficiently organized site, which included adjacent residential parcels acquired over time. The resulting Master Plan replaces the existing church buildings with new phased construction on the high part of the site. The new site organization provides Unity with increased visibility within the community, a setting graced by mature trees, and ample, efficiently organized parking areas.
The First Phase building creates a dramatic impression with a sweeping entrance canopy, drawing visitors into the building while embracing a magnificent mature oak tree. Instantly recognizable in the community, the canopy fronts otherwise simple, clean First Phase building forms that include a multipurpose worship space, administrative offices, and classrooms. Future phases envisionĀ a circular sanctuary, symbolizing unity, lobby socializing areas, a music suite, and additional classroom space.
