On Friday, October 28, 2016 County officials celebrated the grand opening of the Montgomery County Public Safety Training Academy. The last project in Ike Leggett’s Smart Growth initiative, the facility will allow 3000 public safety employees to be trained annually. This cutting edge facility includes a new 115,000 s.f. Academic Building, a Canine Training Building, a Training Fire Station, High Bay Interior Fire Training Building, two Fire Training “Burn” Buildings, Special Operations – Urban Search and Rescue Training, a police and fire response training Cityscape, a driver training track, a Driver Training Classroom Building and driver training skills pad and skid pan.
