On Tuesday, December 6, 2016 members of LeMay Erickson Willcox attended the groundbreaking ceremony for Washburn Place Townhomes. This 30-unit workforce townhome community located in Marshall, Virginia is being developed by the Windy Hill Foundation, in association with T.M. Associates. The community is comprised of six buildings, with five townhouses per structure, featuring exterior façades of brick and HardiePlank siding.
The 3 bedroom, 1,130 s.f. townhome units have been designed to achieve EarthCraft Virginia Platinum certification and will include extra insulation, energy-efficient windows and water-saving devices on all faucets and toilets. The community will also feature five fully handicap-accessible units.
The project was designed to provide housing for police, firefighters, healthcare providers, teachers, and veterans among others. Rent for the units will be affordable to households at 40, 50, and 60 percent of the area median income. The development overlooks property owned by the Middleburg Humane Foundation’s new 23-acre shelter and headquarters.
